Important Client Portal Best Practices!

Dear Tax Client,

Many taxpayers find it convenient and preferrable to use our secure portal to upload tax documents in order to have their tax return completed. It is safe, secure and easy to use.

Here are some best practices for uploading your documents to the Client Portal!

1. USE PDF'S. PDFs are the best way to ensure that your documents are clear, easy to access, and printable. If you dont have a scanner there are many free apps that allow you to take pictures of your documents and convert them into PDF's. Adobe Scan is one of these and is easy to download and use on any mobile device. You can even scan multiple documents into one compact PDF allowing us to print your documents and prepare your Tax Return quickly.

2.VERIFY YOUR DOCUMENTS. After uploading your documents, you should verify that the file that was uploaded was the correct one. With the variety and number of documents necessary to complete a tax return incidents like duplicates or incorrect documents can happen. To ensure that your return gets prepared quickly and correctly, verifying that the file is the correct one you wanted to upload is a must.

3. NOTIFY US WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED UPLOADING*** This is crucial as we get into the heart of tax season. We have many people uploading documents, and it may not be clear to us that your uploading is finished. Promptly notifying either admin@lifestyletaxes.com or your tax preparer that your documents are complete will allow us to get your return completed in the time frame that is expected!

4. RETAIN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD. After getting an invite to the portal you have to create a username and password that is unique to your account. Making sure to write this down or save it in your files will allow you to access your documents, whether you're uploading or downloading, quickly and make tax time even less of a hassle!
